ER Visit

26 Feb

We almost made it 1 full year without taking Taylor to the ER.  So close.  She had an allergic reaction to eggs.  Benadryl didn’t get the job done so the nurse told us to head to the ER.  Here are the pics:

You can’t tell from this pic how red she was.  She was really itchy but still pretty happy.

Here they are about to stick her with some epinephrine.

And this was her reaction.  Tough kid, though.  Only cried for a minute.

Then the nurse brought her some toys.  One for being tough, and another because it’s her birthday in 2 days.

Nothing like a cold grape juice after a shot.  The shot and some oral steroids cleared her right up.

So she’s okay now? That must have been scary. Trips to the ER are no fun.

What a little sweetheart! Oh, poor little Taylor Emma! Hopefully she’s feeling better in time for her birthday! 🙂

So sorry. That must have been very scary. Has she had bad reactions to vaccines? I ask because a friend of mine has children who are allergic to eggs and since many vaccines have egg in them, she does not vaccinate them because the reactions could be very bad. Maybe next time she gets one(if you are doing them) make sure eggs are not on the ingredients.
